Anyone coming to Füssen from the north will see the Säuling from afar. It dominates the scenery behind the lovely Forgensee so much that most people hardly know its satellites by name.
To the east of it, in the expansive Ammergau Alps, there are numerous worthwhile climbing destinations. For example, on the Geiselstein. Those in the know have long been singing the praises of rough slabs and monstrous water grooves. And the Kenzenkopf with its sun-drenched south face is also probably known among connoisseurs.
But that's not all. In recent years, numerous new tours have been created on the partly isolated peaks. There are over 20 on the north side of the Krähe alone. The new Ammergau Alps climbing guide describes them all. And in unprecedented detail and opulence. Overview images, wall photos, topos and informative texts now make the complex topography of the Ammergau Alps accessible to everyone. The easy ridge climbs - the 12 Apostelgrat on the Pilgerschrofen, the east ridge on the Säuling and the west ridge on the Hohen Straußberg - are described in detail.
And last but not least, all the relevant sport climbing areas can be found in the new climbing guide. Both the spots high up on the mountain and the spots close to the valley. Schwanseeplatten, Ziegelwies and Kraftwerkwand - have you heard of them?
