The book describes almost 60 climbing sites between the Amalfi Coast, Positano, Palinuro, the Cilento Park and Maratea. In addition to the updated reports of the crags and historical itineraries, this fourth edition of MALOPASSO is enriched with a section dedicated to the via ferratas present in the region and on the Lucanian Apennines.

On the Amalfi Coast you often climb in little-known places, among unusual scenarios, characterized by rock dwellings, churches, monasteries, where the colors of the mountain blend with the blue of the sea. During the winter months, the seaside villages take on a particular charm and climbing becomes a natural vehicle for learning about places, people, the past and history.

Leaving the maze of streets, nature and cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, the landscape changes radically as you approach the Cilento Park, Vallo di Diano and Alburni area. The stone where you climb mixes with Mediterranean scents, history and popular traditions and it is from the top of these walls that you can best perceive the ability that these places have to excite.

Oreste Bottiglieri, born in Cava de' Tirreni (SA) in 1972, lives on the Amalfi Coast. He is a UIAGM Alpine Guide, climbing instructor, bolter, operator and person in charge of rope work, with professional specialization in the setting up of climbing sites and via ferratas. “I have been climbing since I was a child and I like to see climbing and outdoor disciplines as a lifestyle, an excuse to travel and get to know other places in depth: from the villages of the Amalfi Coast to the 4000 meter peaks of the Alps. The passion for the mountains, my land and my work as a guide have led me over the years to discover and enhance the majority of Campania's climbing sites and to open over 1000 climbing routes including single pitches, multipitches and classic routes.
