The three-thousanders of the Dolomites rise like solitary colossi between the magnificent valleys and peaks of Trentino, South Tyrol, and Veneto.
Some of them are accessible, while others are challenging routes reserved for experienced hikers with the necessary skills for climbing on rock and in a roped party.
This third edition is an important update of the previous editions from 2012 and 2014 and presents some routes not included in the first edition (such as Grohmann's original route to the Fópa di Matia and the route on the north flank of the Hohe Schlechten Gaisl), as well as some more detailed route descriptions (such as the normal routes to the Klein-Schusterspitze, the Pilastro (Pillar) Nino, the Kleine Furchetta, the Cima de Falkner, and the Antelao, whose normal route was damaged in November 2014 due to a large rockfall).
Here's the contribution of some members of the Gruppo 3000 Dolomiti, including Beppe Ziggiotto from Vicenza, who, to our knowledge, was the first to climb all 3000-meter peaks in the Dolomites in 2017, including Cima De Falkner, which has probably remained unclimbed for 65 years. You will also find new sketches of climbing routes by illustrator and mountaineer Marco Romelli, as well as new pictures of some routes.
