Climbing guide Alpinekletterfuhrer Vorarlberg

In the far west of the Alpine republic - framed by the Allgäu and Eastern Switzerland - the small federal state of Vorarlberg hangs over a short seam on the Austrian Tyrol. It includes five mountain groups: the Bregenzerwald Mountains, the Lechquellen Mountains and parts of Rätikon, Silvretta and Verwall. The climbing guide does not stick slavishly to national borders, but describes all goals that can be reached logically from Vorarlberg and makes trips to Switzerland, Tyrol and the Allgäu. The region presents itself as varied as few others: flat limestone on the Roter Wand, Roggalspitze or Gelbeck, grippy bedrock around the Darmstädter Hütte, on the Patteriol or in the Jamtal. Peak activity on the Spullerplatten and mountain solitude on the Pflunspitzen. This versatility and the easy accessibility from southwest Germany made the area one of the most popular climbing regions in the Alps.
