Pietro Dal Pra: Between the ages of fourteen and seventeen, he ranked among the elite with his ascents. At the age of twenty-one, he became a mountain guide. Parallel to his profession Pietro continued to spend time in the mountains regardless of the season and in the Dolomites he climbed some of his most beautiful ascents in different climbing styles. Pietro's approach to climbing is pure, motivated by a desire to embrace the vertical world and not be driven by the need to achieve arbitrary goals. Pietro set his limits and played with them, so ethics and style were always top priorities. His great achievements are simply the result of this approach. Among his many ascents is Zauberlehrling on Cima Scotoni, one of the hardest solo ascents of all time in the Dolomites. In Ratikon in 1999, he managed a third ascent of the Silbergeier in just three days, which is still one of the fastest ascents, and six years later he took on a second ascent of an even more difficult route: Die Unendliche Geschichte. Hotel Supramonte has its first ascent in Sardinia, one of the most beautiful multi-length routes on Mediterranean limestone. He not only made many repetitions of quality routes, but also opened new lines of extreme beauty and toughness on the walls he discovered himself.
