GA SEAM GRIP + SIL (formerly McNETT SILNET) is a product that can easily seal seams on siliconized fabrics. Seams on siliconized fabrics cannot be taped with sealing tape because available sealing tapes do not adhere to the siliconized surface. Therefore, the seams are sewn with threads with a certain percentage of cotton, which swells in moisture and plugs the needle holes. If the tropic is overstretched, the needle holes can open up again and the seam then leaks water. It is therefore recommended to coat the seams of siliconised fabrics with a sealing compound that is permanently elastic. GA SEAM GRIP + SIL is one of these sealants. It prevents water from penetrating the seam and is permanently elastic. Workflow: Apply directly from the tube, or with a brush, on a clean dry surface, over threads and in creases, in a thin layer. If the surface needs to be degreased, the use of isopropyl alcohol is ideal. The layer should be allowed to dry, which takes 3-6 hours. Before folding the fabric, make sure that the applied layer does not stick. We recommend dusting the dried layer with talcum powder (e.g. GA Talcum Powder).
